An Online Therapist for Kentuckians, Wherever Home Is
Kentucky knows how to show up for people: casseroles, ball games, a neighbor who just appears with a truck when you need one. What we're not always great at is making time for ourselves.

Couch by the Creek offers online therapy for adults across Kentucky. Whether you're on a quiet street in Louisville or at the end of a county road, a therapist who's licensed in the Commonwealth is as close as a screen and a comfortable chair. You don't have to drive an hour, and you don't have to be seen walking into an office.
From the Ohio River to the Cumberland
We see adults in Louisville, Lexington, and Northern Kentucky, in Bowling Green, Owensboro, and Paducah, in Frankfort, Elizabethtown, and Somerset, and in Pikeville, Hazard, and every county seat in between. If you live in Kentucky, we can work together.
What people come to the couch for
You're the dependable one. The one who holds the family together, runs the committee, and covers for everybody, and you're running on fumes. We help you set boundaries without guilt and learn that “no” can be a complete sentence. That's our work on codependency and people-pleasing.
Your mind doesn't quit when the day does. It replays conversations and rehearses disasters, usually around 2 a.m. That's anxiety and overthinking, and it responds well to good therapy.
Life shifted: a move, a breakup, a new baby, an empty house, or a job that's gone. Our relationships and life transitions work is about finding your footing again.
Maybe you're rethinking how much you drink or use, or you're walking a recovery path and want company on it. We offer addiction and recovery support without judgment or lectures.
A word about small towns
In a small town, everybody knows everybody's car. With online therapy, nobody sees you in a waiting room or notices your truck in a parking lot. You log in from home, and your sessions stay confidential, with the legal exceptions every therapist follows.
Licensed in Kentucky
Your therapist is licensed to practice in Kentucky: Krystina Vinpa, LCSW, KY License #258182. Sessions are by secure video, and you need to be in Kentucky during your session.
Plain talk about money
If you have insurance, we likely work with it. We're in network with Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare (including AllSavers and Surest), plus many employer, EAP, and student plans. See the full list.
Have Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield? Your mental health benefits may run through Carelon Behavioral Health, which we're in network with. Check the back of your card, or send us a picture and we'll look.
If you're paying on your own, you'll find our fees on the rates page, and we have a few reduced-fee spots for people who need them.
Questions we hear from Kentuckians
My internet isn't great. Will this still work?
Tell us up front. We'll talk through options, like a steadier spot in your home or a different device.
I have Humana, or a plan that isn't on your list. Now what?
We're not currently in network with Humana. We can give you a superbill to submit for out-of-network reimbursement, and many plans pay back a portion. Call your plan and ask about out-of-network mental health benefits, or ask us to help you read them.
I work across the river in Cincinnati, Evansville, or Clarksville. Can we still meet?
We can only hold sessions when you're physically in a state where your therapist is licensed, so check with us first. If you're in Kentucky for the session, you're good.
What happens in the free consultation?
You tell us what's been going on, you ask whatever you want, and you decide whether we feel right. Nobody's pressuring you.
